Lace Face Wall Hanging

This is a drawing created with a 3D pen and flexible TPU filament. The first layer of the drawing is made up of interconnecting links of clear filament which is barely visible against a light coloured wall. For the second layer, I've used a black filament to draw a female face in profile.

Working with a 3D pen is literally drawing with plastic.

This unique artwork looks quite delicate but the TPU filament is very strong and durable and hangs beautifully from the wooden dowel which measures 31cm in length. The height of this piece is 61cm and the widest part measures 37cm.

I've recently started using a TPU filament which is made from 100% recycled material which comes from footwear waste. Amazing to think that this artwork had once been part of a pair of trainers.

The wall hanging will only be effective against a light coloured, plain wall. It is incredibly light in weight which makes it very easy to hang.
