Floral Face Wall Hanging

This unique artwork has been created with a 3D pen and Lutradur fabric. The face design was drawn with the pen using TPU filament which feels like a firm but very fine rubber.

I wanted to make the drawing more substantial so I added a backing piece using PLA filament which is rigid. This means the artwork can hang better and the white whirls and loops add strength.

Sandwiched between the PLA backing and the TPU drawing I added flowers which were cut out from a non woven fabric which feels a little like paper and doesn't fray or tear.

The flowers combined with the layer of white whirls create a lace-like effect which looks stunning underneath the black line drawing.

The three layers were hand sewn together and finally attached to a wooden dowel.
